Claire Jones

Claire Jones is a student studying an MA in Multimedia Broadcast Journalism at University College Falmouth. Last year she graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Journalism and Media Studies. She is hostile environment trained, has shorthand and experience in all spheres of the media from print to online and broadcasting.

She has completed work experience at The Herald in Plymouth, the Exeter Express and Echo, the Torquay Herald Express and The Western Morning News. She has also carried out a work placement at more! magazine. Claire has also completed a placement at The Independent newspaper online.

In broadcasting, she has worked at Two Four Broadcast, contributing to Big Chef Little Chef, aired on ITV1, and Road Warriors, aired on Five.  She has also carried out work placements at Plymouth Radio and Portsmouth’s Community Radio Station Pure FM.

Claire is now a trainee reporter at The Herald newspaper in Plymouth.  Although passionate about all news, Claire has a particular interest in foreign affairs and defence. In the future Claire would like to work in television news.
